We asked Mortgage First NI for an insight into the 10% market:
- Good news is that as of this week we now have a total of 4 lenders who will offer 10% mortgages to existing and first time buyers.
- We have seen the market ease in terms of 10% and expect even more lenders back in this space over the coming months.
- Overall demand remains high for mortgages – however it is unlikely we will see a return to 5% mortgages for quite some time.
- There remain no 10% deals available in Northern Ireland on new build properties – the minimum currently would be 15% or Co-ownership if appropriate.
